For over three decades, every Ashadhi Wari has represented far more than a pilgrimage for Finolex Pipes. It is an annual opportunity to stand alongside lakhs of Warkaris, quietly supporting one of
Maharashtra's most enduring traditions of faith, service, community and devotion. For Finolex, this association carries a deeper significance: the company's own journey has grown alongside the towns, villages and farming communities of Maharashtra, whose trust has helped shape the Finolex brand over the past 45 years.
The Pandharpur Wari, an over 800-year-old pilgrimage dedicated to Lord Vitthal, brings together lakhs of devotees who walk hundreds of kilometres together each year — young and old, from every corner of the state — in a remarkable expression of faith, humility, perseverance and seva. The two most revered processions set out from Alandi and Dehu, near Pune, carrying the palkhis of Sant Dnyaneshwar Maharaj and Sant Tukaram Maharaj, and journey together on foot for nearly three weeks, covering close to 250
kilometres through villages, towns, cities, and open highways before converging on Pandharpur. It is this spirit of shared devotion and equality among devotees that has drawn Finolex to stand alongside the Warkaris for more than 30 years.
Supporting the Warkaris
Finolex is distributing around 5 lakh essential items, like utility bags, rain ponchos, and walking sticks, helping Warkaris undertake their spiritual journey with greater comfort. In addition, the company's CSR arm, Mukul Madhav Foundation (MMF), is organising free medical camps at key locations along the route, providing healthcare consultations, preventive care, essential medicines and medical assistance to Warkaris throughout their journey.
For more than two and a half decades, MMF has worked across
healthcare, education, rural development, environmental sustainability, livelihood enhancement, community welfare, and its presence at the Wari reflects the Foundation's continued commitment to making quality healthcare accessible where it is needed most. This year, the company is also contributing T-shirts and caps to the Charan Seva initiative coordinated through the Office of the Maharashtra Chief Minister, Shri Devendra Fadnavis Ji. Supporting those who serve the Wari Recognising the dedicated efforts of the administration and security personnel managing one of India’s largest annual pilgrimages, Finolex is providing rainwear for thousands of police personnel, along with specialised jackets for the Pandharpur Police Quick Response Team.
The company is also partnering with the Pandharpur Police Department and the Pandharpur Temple Committee to install alert and information signages that help guide, inform, and assist devotees throughout the pilgrimage. Reinforcing its commitment to environmental responsibility, Finolex is undertaking a plantation drive in Pandharpur and installing waste bins at key locations to help promote a cleaner, greener and more sustainable
pilgrimage.
Speaking on the occasion, Prakash P. Chhabria, Executive Chairman, said:
“The Pandharpur Wari is a celebration of faith, humility, perseverance, and selfless service that has inspired generations. At Finolex, we are privileged to be associated with this sacred tradition for more than 30 years. Much of our own journey has been shaped by the trust of the people and communities of rural Maharashtra. Their support over the past 45 years has helped build the Finolex brand, and our association with the Wari is one way of expressing our gratitude through meaningful service. As we celebrate 45 years, we remain deeply committed to serving communities and preserving traditions that continue to strengthen the cultural fabric of our nation.”
In this milestone year for the company, its continued association with the Pandharpur Wari reflects a belief that enduring brands and lasting institutions are built not only through products and manufacturing excellence, but through sustained commitment to the communities and traditions they serve. The trust earned across rural Maharashtra over generations remains the foundation of the company's growth — and serving the Warkaris, year after year, is one meaningful way of expressing gratitude for that trust.
