Thousand stories, One truth

APM Terminals Pipavav Marks World Environment Day with Week of Green Action

APM Terminals Pipavav celebrated World Environment Day with a week-long series of community-driven activities, highlighting its ongoing commitment to sustainability and environmental awareness in both operations and local outreach.

As part of the celebrations, trainees from the Skill and Entrepreneurship Development Institute (SEDI) planted trees in their native villages—encouraging grassroots ownership of environmental action and building a culture of care for the planet.

The week also saw powerful street performances aimed at raising awareness. SEDI youth performed a play on the impact of e-waste, while students from Bherai presented a thought-provoking skit titled “Dharti Ne TavAayu” (Mother Earth Has Got Fever) to spotlight the urgency of climate change.

Creative engagement continued in project-supported schools, where students took part in poetry, drawing, poster-making, and quizzes centered around environmental themes—bringing sustainability into the classroom through imagination and learning.

A key highlight of the week was a community-wide pledge ceremony, where over 1,000 people vowed to protect the environment and plant a tree on their birthdays—turning a symbolic gesture into a lifelong habit.

Through these efforts, APM Terminals Pipavav continues to embed sustainable practices in its day-to-day operations while encouraging eco-conscious values in the communities it serves.
