The Hyderabad Management Association (HMA), a pioneering organization in management development and leadership, conducted a special session for senior army officers of the prestigious College of Defence Management (CDM) at the hotel Plaza in Begumpet. With a relationship spanning over two decades, this collaboration between HMA and CDM continues to strengthen knowledge sharing and foster excellence in leadership.
Mr. Chandrashekar, President of HMA, expressed his admiration for the Indian Armed Forces, stating, “I am deeply honored to address this gathering of brave and selfless individuals. You have inspired us with your courage, motivated us with your resilience, and protected us with your selflessness.”
CDM, India’s first institution exclusively dedicated to management education and research within the Armed Forces, plays a crucial role in bridging military operations with civilian management principles. Colonel N.K. Sharma, speaking on the occasion, remarked, “The college remains a beacon of learning and innovation, enhancing operational efficiency through the integration of management practices.”
Mr. Naveen Reddy, Additional Director of the Industries Department, Government of Telangana, emphasized the need for defense personnel to consider entrepreneurship post-retirement. He encouraged them to explore opportunities in manufacturing within Telangana. During the event, Mr. Reddy, along with CDM officials and Mr. Sharat Chandra Maroju, Joint Secretary of HMA, unveiled the HMA newsletter.
The session included interactive discussions and Q&A segments that offered valuable insights from both defense officers and HMA facilitators. Renowned author R.V.G. Kulkarni shared leadership lessons from his book, “A Leader’s Tripping Point,” highlighting the rapid evolution of work culture in the post-COVID digital era.
Additionally, Ramesh Vemuganti and Kashyap Vemuganti presented ideas from their book, “Move Fast and Act Now,” a resourceful guide for today’s leadership challenges. The book focuses on tools to channelize youth toward effective management practices.
Mr. Alwala Devender Reddy, Secretary of HMA, said, “HMA’s 60-year journey exemplifies a dedicated mission to enhance the field of management and cultivate leadership. We are excited to announce the upcoming Leadership Conclave in February, where industry icons from across the country will address professionals in Hyderabad.”
HMA’s session at CDM reinforced its commitment to fostering leadership and management excellence while strengthening its long-standing relationship with the Indian Armed Forces.
